Competitor tracking

# Know When a Competitor’s Talent Is Ready to Move.

The same public LinkedIn signals that warn you an employee may be about to leave also tell you when a competitor’s employee is getting ready to move. TeamPredict reads both.

Two lenses, one radar

## The Same Signals, Read Two Ways.

TeamPredict watches the public profile changes that tend to precede a job move. What they mean depends on where the radar is pointing.

Your company

### Retention early warning.

When one of your own tracked employees starts signaling, that is resignation risk. You get lead time for a supportive conversation, or a calm succession plan, before the notice lands.

High risk a supportive check-in

Your competitors

### Poaching opportunity radar.

When an employee at a tracked competitor starts signaling, that is a poaching opportunity. You get lead time to reach out with a friendly conversation before the rest of the market notices.

Hot opportunity a friendly hello

Part of signup

## Set Up Your Radar in Three Steps.

Competitor tracking is built into signup: no separate setup, no extra product to learn. You can also add competitors later from your dashboard.

### TeamPredict Scans for Your Competitors

At signup, TeamPredict scans for the companies you compete with and suggests them, each matched to its LinkedIn company page.

### You Choose Who to Track

Pick which competitors to follow and which roles or departments to watch. Nothing is tracked until you choose it.

### You Get Opportunity Alerts

When a competitor’s employee shows signals they may be open to a move, you get an alert, with the exact changes behind it.

Role and department targeting

## Watch the Roles You Actually Hire For.

Follow a competitor’s whole roster, or narrow the radar to the teams you compete for. Pick departments or add your own keywords. Only profiles that match your filters are tracked and billed.

Filters apply per competitor: watch Sales at one rival and Engineering at another.

Opportunity alerts

## Checked Every Day. Alerts When Signals Heat Up.

Tracked competitor profiles are checked daily, just like your own team. When someone’s signals heat up, they surface as a Hot opportunity and an alert lands in your inbox, with the exact profile changes behind it.

A signal is a nudge that the timing may be right. You decide if and when to say hello.

New-hire radar

## Their New Hires, on Your Radar Automatically.

TeamPredict re-checks each competitor's roster about once a week. Anyone new in the departments you watch is added to your radar automatically, and recent joiners are flagged as new hires, so you get an email while they are still new.

People are most open to a move in their first few months on the job. A competitor's new hire is the easiest person to start a conversation with.

Headcount analytics

## Your Size vs Theirs, Charted Over Time.

TeamPredict records every tracked company's LinkedIn headcount daily, overall and by department, and charts your company against your competitors. When a competitor suddenly grows or shrinks, company-wide or in one team, you get an email alert.

- Daily headcount readings for you and every tracked competitor
- Department-level trends: watch their Engineering or Sales team specifically
- Email alerts on sudden growth or shrinkage - a hiring push or a poaching window

Ethics and trust

## Public Signals, Handled Responsibly.

Competitor tracking reads the same public LinkedIn profiles anyone can visit. Nothing more. You stay in control of who is on your radar and what you do about it.

FAQ

## Competitor Tracking, Answered

How scanning, targeting, alerts, and billing actually work

### How does TeamPredict find my competitors?

At signup, TeamPredict scans for the companies you compete with and suggests them, each matched to its LinkedIn company page. You can accept a suggestion, add a competitor yourself, or skip the step entirely, and you can add or remove competitors later from your dashboard.

### Can I track only certain roles or departments?

Yes. For every competitor you choose which roles or departments to watch: Engineering, Sales, Product, or your own keywords. Only profiles that match your filters are tracked, and you can change the filters anytime.

### What is a poaching opportunity alert?

When an employee at a tracked competitor shows the public signals that often precede a job move (a new headline, an “Open to Work” badge, a spike in profile edits), TeamPredict flags them as a poaching opportunity and emails you an alert. It is a reason to reach out with a friendly conversation, never certainty that someone wants to move.

### Can I see competitor headcount over time?

Yes. TeamPredict records each tracked company's LinkedIn headcount every day, overall and by department, and charts your company against your competitors over time. When a competitor's team suddenly grows or shrinks, you get an email alert.

### What happens when a competitor hires someone new?

TeamPredict re-checks each tracked competitor's roster about once a week. New employees who match the departments or roles you watch are added to your radar automatically and billed like any tracked profile, and people who joined recently are flagged as new hires so you can reach out while they're still settling in.

### How much does competitor tracking cost?

Competitor profiles are billed like any tracked employee: $5 per tracked profile per month, or $50 per year. They count toward the same subscription as your own team, and your 30-day free trial covers up to 100 tracked profiles.

### Does TeamPredict contact the people I track?

No. TeamPredict never contacts, messages, or notifies anyone: it only reads public LinkedIn profile signals. Whether and how you reach out to someone is always your call.

### Is competitor tracking based on private data?

Competitor tracking analyzes only public LinkedIn profile information: the same signals anyone can see by visiting a profile. It never accesses private data, sends connection requests, or contacts anyone. The one feature anywhere in the product that reads company data is Slack team health, a separate feature that is off by default: if you switch it on, it counts messages in the channels you select, but it still contacts nobody. Telling your team is your job, and it reads nothing until an admin confirms you have done it, after which it reads back up to 12 months of their message counts.

## Point the Radar Both Ways.

Retention early warning for your team. Poaching opportunities from your competitors. Same signals, same subscription.
